Two Iranian films ‘Yellow’ and ‘Asphyxia’ have grabbed bestselling titles for this week at Iran local box office.
According to a media report published on Thursday, ‘Yellow’ directed by Mostafa Taqizadeh grossed 35,973,700,000 Rials for the period from October 26 to November 2, 2017.
‘Yellow’ is a drama about people’s relations, goals and achievements. The film poses a question: what each of us would do and choose if we were in the Iranian scientists’ place?
The flick features popular Iranian actors such as Bahram Radan, Sareh Bayat, Mehrdad Seddiqian, Bahareh Kianafshar, Shahram Haqiqatdoust, Alireza Ostadi, Hossein Mehri, Anahita Dargahi, Morteza Taqizadeh, Amir-Ali Nabavian and Ali Salehi.
A short synopsis of ‘Yellow’ reads, “We are strange people... Our present is very different to our future.”
Another box office hit for this week is ‘Asphyxia’. Directed by Fereydoun Jeyrani the movie grossed about 20,000,000,000 Rials for a period less than two weeks.
Iranian actors Elnaz Shakerdoust and Navid Mohammadzadeh star in the flick. Mahaya Petrosian and Poulad Kimiaee are some of the other key casts in Jeyrani’s film which is rated as an adult-only film.
"Masoud’s wife suffers from nervous tensions and he has to take her to the psychiatric hospital,” a brief synopsis for the film read.
